Calypte anna

Common Names:Anna's Hummingbird

Habitat: Woodland, chaparral, desert scrub, urban & suburban areas. Full-time resident of Northern California south. Winters regularly from British Columbia to Arizona.

Description:Both sexes are medium sized, and metallic green above. Male has a Rose Red crown and gorget. Female has speckled throat with central patch of red spots sometimes visible. Belly is grayish/white. Outer Tail Feathers are white-tipped.
