     Directions
    or
     Road

    To hike
From north of Buena Vista, CO: A few miles north of Buena Vista,CO, at the intersection of Hwy 24/82-Aspen,CO Hwy, take Hwy 82 west for 10.5-.6 miles to end at the "very" easy to miss right turn (and you will surely miss it) off Hwy 82 to the TH Parking at the Black Cloud TR Start; Also, here is a sure trick to find the TH Turn: Go 10.5-.6 miles to the right turn into the TH lot. This turn is very difficult to see from the road, SO pass-up the right turn and you will see clearly the Mt Elbert Lodge on your left. Make a U- turn there and go slowly only 500 feet back down Hwy 82 and you will see the very small sign and TH Parking entry road on your left; Also, for your convenience and reference, see GPS Route "Drive to Mt. Elbert TH via Black Cloud".
