Adding a triplog
I think I might be dumb blind or both, but I can't see where I would a triplog. I can see the past ones, I've done, but they were so long ago.
Thanks!

Soap Creek Canyon
Hi Everyone I want to plan a trip to Soap Creek Canyon. I have a few questions. When is the best time to go? I want to do a overnight, so do I need a permit? If so, where do I get one? Me, husband and kids (10 and 12) are pretty fit. Can kids do this trail? I do like to challenge them. They have bot...

Re: Blue Ridge Reservoir
@chumley
Sounds good. Then the end of FR123 will still work, cause it's on the map and the battleground area is still an option. I'll be sure and take my tape measure...lol
We will also be taking our mountain bikes, so it's should be fun. Going on Wednesday the 29th after the Memorial weekend.

Re: Blue Ridge Reservoir
@chumley What if the road is not on that pdf map?? Does the 30 feet still apply? There are roads all over the place, but not on their map. I think we will camp at the end of FR123 past the pump station somewhere, 30 feet from the road. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/landmanagement/projects/?...

Re: Chevelon Lake
I looked for the A-S map/rules, but couldn't find any. Camping 30 feet from the road doesn't sound pleasant and it's been awhile since it's rained, so it will be dusty. Why do they make it difficult? You can't even camp anywhere now. I just want to know where to go and have to drive around for 4 hou...

Chevelon Lake
Okay, since dispersed camping is not allowed anywhere near Blue Ridge Res. (CC Cragin) my alternative is Chevelon Lake. Question is how is Chevelon Ridge Road?? Is it super rough? We do have 4x4 Yukon, and pulling a pop-up (high Clearance) Directions per Google maps Rim Road to Deer Lake Canyon Fire...

Re: Blue Ridge Reservoir
Also review the 2013 forest travel map (last year's edition has changed) to check if the road and area is ok to camp. The battleground ridge area is an area you may be interested in. What type of camper, I have a Livinlite Quicksilver 8. We would like to camp around the battleground ridge area, but...

Re: Blue Ridge Reservoir
Looking for a non-developed camp spot on the south side of blue ridge reservoir. We have a high clearance pop-up trailer. On Google maps there is a road that leads from the Rim Road to the pump station, but not sure what the road is called. Anyone??

Re: Canyon Hike
Thanks for all the information. I think me and my husband will do Soap Creek and then decided if we want to take the kids along. Anyone know how much permits cost to maybe do an overnight down by the river?

Re: Canyon Hike
I honestly don't think I would take the kids to the Salt Canyon Trail I think that's a trip for the husband and I, but I just want the kids to experience and see all these wonderful things, so it's hard to leave them behind. They are 8 and 10, the 18 year old has no desire at this point in time. :( ...

Re: Canyon Hike
Thanks! I was really looking to ready myself for the Salt Trail Canyon to LCR hike. I wanted a nice canyon hike to take the kids on also. Wondering if they could do the Salt Trail Canyon to LCR. They are both pretty fit kids, just not sure how they will do if they have to carry their own water, food...

Canyon Hike
Hi Everyone I'm looking for a canyon type hike. Something for intermediate level. I eventually want to do the LCR Horse Trail or maybe even the Salt Trail Canyon hike. I do lots of trail running right now in the Estrella Mountain range and use the parks trails. Our community borders the park, which ...

Re: Just Purchased a Garmin Rino 120
We returned the Garmin Rino 120 and purchase the Garmin GPSMAP 60 instead. This one did come with a CD and I can create waypoints and routes on my computer then send it to the GPS. I downloaded the Route for Grand Falls for this weekend. Taking the kids there to see and hang out for a bit. Thanks ev...

Re: Downloading GPS Routes from HAZ--Where?
Yes, it came with the serial cable, but no Mapsource CD. As for downloading the waypoints from the GeoCaching site, I had to install a Garmin Communicator Plugin. Then I was able to select the "Send to GPS" button, so that it would create that waypoint on my GPS unit. I have no idea what f...

Re: Downloading GPS Routes from HAZ--Where?
Ours came pre-loaded with some kind of map, not sure what it's called. I did manage to download waypoints from the GEOCaching site and that work the way I anticipated it. Do I have to buy Mapsource software first to be able to use this feature.
