Randal, I always enjoy reading your trail descriptions. The detail in them are just incredible! Very well written and photographed. Your obvious hard work and the hard work of others truly make HAZ the best hiking resource on the net! Congratulations on your milestone...it is much appreciated. :bigt...

Humphreys update...
If you're planning to do the Peaks this weekend be prepared for a possible snow event. A weather system moving in tonight lasting thru the morning tomorrow could bring additional snow to the Weatherford Trail and new accumulation to the Humphreys Trail. If your heart is still set on hiking it - the ...

In response to mikeinFHAZ's reply: Speaking of cell phones on the trail...the user must be a very important person if they can't leave their phones turned off long enough to enjoy nature. Sad that they are slaves to an electronic device. I encounter much of this on the city trails in PHX. I guess t...

In response to ChefTIO's reply:
yes, I suggest the Inner Basin. At the begining of the trail, there might be a running creek for the dog. Prob doing it Friday. I'll report back.

Re: Legalize it!!
I think the worst thing that could happen is Cannabis Hemp become legal across the board. Overnight, prices for materials needed to homegrow herb would then sky rocket. Corporate America would be the only ones to benefit. (I did vote "yes" on prop 200 in '02 to decrimianlize Majijuana) Doc...

In response to mcontreras' reply: Venturing above the tree line during the monsoon season is always a risk - with or without extra weight. Early morning start times are best to avoid unexpected weather - lighting and such. Most storms form around 11am almost on a daily basis. If you're wondering ab...

I'm all about weight. Be it a day hike or backpakin a few days. Any type of firearms to me are unnecesarry weight. (unless of course you are a card carrying member of the NRA and enjoy tugging your ATV along with you everywhere you go) Didn't some bright GOP legislature try to introduce a bill to al...
