Hi!
Have you hiked to Taylor Cabin in Feb 2015?
If yes, is there water in the creek by the cabin?
The last HikeArizona water report was from 2012.
Thanks

Government Shutdown - Supes OK?
I see on the Dept of Interior website that "all Federal lands are closed" during the government shutdown.
Does anyone know if this includes the Supes? Has anyone been out there hiking or backpacking this week?

Need Tonto Water Report
Howdy: If you've hiked the section of the Tonto between Grandview and South Kaibab, can you please bring me up-to-speed on which canyons have water flowing. Our trip April 5th. I'm especially interested in knowing if we can expect to find water in Lone Tree or Cremation. Conversely, if you know a be...

Re: Winter backpacking areas with water
Check out the Grand Enchantment trail (http://hikearizona.com/map.php?X=2 http://www.simblissity.net/get/). The western portion starts, which starts in the Supes, is ideal for winter hiking.

Re: Sawmill / Tanks canyons
Hi Kurt: I saw your post on HikeAZ about Sawmill Canyon: http://hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7147 Have you checked these canyons out yet? They look very cool and I wondered if you had any 411? I'm especially interested in how to get to the "trailhead," how far it was to th...

Re: Page Shuttle Service?
Hey PageRob:
We're doing the north routh starting on Friday April 9th. We're hiring Betty to shuttle us from Wahweap Marina and will take the boat back on Sunday.
I think you're doing it the weekend before. Can you leave a 6-pack for us at the Bridge? lol

Leo's moved, darn it. He was great. I heard he's now the mayor of Gallup, NM. but don't know for sure where he went.

Page Shuttle Service?
Howdy: I'm planning a North Route Rainbow Bridge backpacking trip in the Page, AZ area in April and need to hire someone for a lengthy shuttle for 6 hikers. We'll need to go from Wahweap Marina outside of Page to the north side of Navajo Mountain. Does anyone know of or have a contact for a shuttle ...

There is relaible water at Charlebois. It's up at the base of the hill across the dry creekbed. You'll be able to hear it.

I agree Charlebois is a good option. From the Peralta TH, take the Dutchmans Trail. Come back on the Bluff Springs Trail.

Re: butter/margerine on the trail?
REI sales small polyurethene bottles that are perfect for olive oil or margarine. http://www.rei.com/product/605500 I like to bring Squeeze Parkay in a small bottle (just the amount I'll use). I've also used ghee, which is butter with the solids removed so it doesn't spoil. It has a rich butter flav...
