Re: FLYING_FLIVER
Very sad to learn of FLYING_FLIVER's passing. His hiking trips and documentation were unique and enjoyable to experience. Many of us awaited his annual returns from Wisconsin to see where he would be exploring next. We learned a lot from him. He will certainly be missed. Condolences to his family an...

The well is fenced off and looks nothing like it did back in the day. Disappointing.

I use the BRS stove. Weighs 1 ounce. Inexpensive. Very small. Might be too small for some. I like it.

Thanks for the clarification. 82% of the State's population lives in one of the five AMA's.

Re: Whoa, whoa is our plight!
A couple things about the misleading article. First, the AZ Dept of Water Resources (ADWR) will not allow valley cities to further develop without a "100 year assured water supply". Cities must prove they can supply water for the next 100 years. There is water available to support growth. ...

Any decent contractor would know exactly what the "process" is, how long the timelines are, and the costs involved. All part of the pre-bid homework.

You might consider the Horseshoe trailhead parking area. It's behind the health club north of the Gateway TH.

The trail begins at the fence. Stay left once you leave Mescal Rd. There is room for several cars to park near the fence/trailhead.

"low-severity fire" in May? Good luck with that. Fire needs to happen. It seems too risky now.

Re: 3-Day / 2-Night Backpack Suggestion for April?
My 2 cents. Go down SK because it's the shorter route. Take very little water. Fill up on water at phantom ranch. Camp at clear creek the first night. Play around the area day two, but camp on the way back to phantom the second night to save on the distance hiking out the last day. Start very early ...

Roosevelt lake is up 1.07 feet since Saturday. The lake is 33.58 square miles. There are 640 acres per sq mile. There are 325,851 gallons per acre foot of water. Rounded off that comes to 7.49 billion gallons of flow into the lake since Saturday. Impressive. The lake is only up 1%. It holds quite a ...
