TrailDEX Map is the next console under development. It will be a while, gathering the resources and flowcharting just started last week.

Re: Cycling sites
The beta of mapmyride is pretty nice really, I use it to plan out new routes (when I'm looking for a certain distance/gain etc).. which gives me a nice que sheet even (and a course for my garmin, should I really want it). I haven't played with any other site that works as well to be honest Generally...

Re: Fires are sad
When you visit areas of successful prescribed burns, and even lightning caused fires in areas where good forest management pactices have been in place, it's not nearly as ugly as miles and miles of burnt trees and little or no vegetation. How much of this was due to decades of man-prevented fires t...

I'm probably just fed up and completely jaded, I just don't trust any corporate entity to do anything that does not improve their bottom line. Course, much of that impression comes from my own job.

Re: Is the oil leak UNSTOPPABLE? from Mother Jones
The real question, it seems to me at least, is which is more important to BP. Stopping the leak at all costs, or doing so in such a manner that they still have access to the oil. I'm thinking it's really the latter.

I don't know, the apathy bothers me less than the conversations I've had with people that believe that this incident indicates that we should drill MORE offshore.

Re: Nalgene bottle weights
I use the Nalg too because of my filter. Sucks when you're in a larger group and you're the only one with a Nalg style and they all want to use my filter to fill their plastic disposables. That's because they haven't done this. http://hikearizona.com/dex2/igallery/image.php?pic_id=4276 BTW, I did 8...

The poly will take more abuse, but in general.. they're all too heavy.. Used gatorade bottles (and platypus bags) for the win!

I've fractured, bruised and separated em... 4 - 6 weeks before really beginning to really do anything again is the general recommendation I've gotten.. and I'd have to say that it's pretty true at least for fractured and separated ribs. If you don't feel pain when breathing, my money will be on a br...

Responsibility, irresponsibility, who should and who shouldn't, those are all peripheral. Like I said way back, I support Free Speech, but I don't stand on street corners. I'm not arguing your legal right or your mental status. Forget those issues. So what exactly IS your argument, because if you'r...

Tell you what, if I happen to be carrying.. I will be carrying it into the bathroom with me. To do otherwise would be flat out irresponsible. Personally, the woman who lost her weapon in the bathroom... is one person who shouldn't be carrying, period.
