@UPhiker hey, I was told they've postponed the major construction to 2024? But i guess they've been working on water treatment for a few months now. so right now everything is chill and as it usually is. They'll be closing half the campground and i think all of the cabins when construction actually...

@Canyonram Colter was a fraud. The evidence is mind numbing. I've been guiding at Grand Canyon since 2013 and all anyone ever talked about was what a badazz Colter was. I hated her stories. They seemed so fake and too good to be true. I only spoke of her if someone asked. I'm a firm supporter of Sh...

@wildwesthikes
Isn't that the same with ALL media? Even the news ;)
Have you seen Mcbride's Grand Canyon videos? Like don't get me wrong he's a friend of ours and I adore him but... He's so over the top! But that's okay. He's an amazing, uh, filmographer (?)

@joebartels I'd be more concerned with those guys posting a documentary about it. If you read my triplog it's not very helpful. I didn't post directions or locations or anything cool. The "hike" is well documented on the internet and what I wrote is chicken scratch compared to the stuff a...

It's been three years since my GPS took me offtrail in the mazzies...I ended up at Grand Canyon somehow...I'm still working on my SKT (slowest known time). I might finish the 800 miles sometime on 2021.

@LosDosSloFolks The sections I've done were fantastic. I've done the GC section now too. Still missing the meatie sections from Hite to Grand Canyon but everything else has been an absolute blast. There are a lot of hidden gems along that route that should be kept "secret" and respected o...

UPDATE: I won't be able to make this now, I'm going backpacking instead! Raincheck?! Rewarding myself for my triumphant yet temporary return to "civilization" I've decided to complete the "Phoenix Area Peaks" list on HAZ. Which will only take two summits it seems. Anyway, would a...

Re: 5-6 days in the Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon is not made of trails. And as my friends above stated don't assume too much. Tanner to LCR and back via Beamer is a fun trip but monotonous if you have to day hike Beamer both ways in one day. Don't do that if possible, there is so much beauty out there camp due south of the confluence ...
