AZT Hiker Boxes - 10, 11, 12?

Buddy and I are section hiking and the drought has us concerned. We're going NOBO 10 11 12 and want to have some water stashed where AZT 10 and 11 meet. Maybe around Gordon Hirabayashi or Molino Basin Campgrounds. Same question for along the road where 11 meets 12 at Marshall Gulch. I know it's near...

Re: Sharing shuttle to southern trailhead

@FireFly I wish you the best. Please continue to check in during your hike as we'll likely cross paths somewhere. Perhaps a resupply can be arranged at that time.

AZTrail Section Hiking NoBo 20-30 miles every other weekend

Hello All! My friends and I are from Phoenix and will be hiking the AZT every other weekend. I'm mostly doing the organizing with friends on FB but HikeArizona expands the ease of logistics as more people join up on hikes. The tentative schedule is 20-30 miles every other weekend, heading North . We...

Re: Sharing shuttle to southern trailhead

Are you both thru hiking? My friends and I are doing 20-30 miles lengths every other weekend. We've done #1 already. #2 and 3 are next weekend (27,28,29 Jan). That's probably way off your schedule but we would be close enough to drop you off. We're coming from Phoenix so passing through Tucson isn't...

This weekend , Sections 43 and 42. Need a pickup or drop off

Buddy and I are starting at Northernmost point and heading south along segments #43 and #42 and plan to end at 89A this weekend. Last minute request, the turn of the weather has others backing out and we're trying to figure out the ride situation. Is anyone in the area available to pick us up from 8...

Re: multiday backpacking trip in jan...

You could have smaller fires, if you use a ligthweight wood burning backpacking stove then you can get around most fire bans. I made one recently that I've been enjoying, weighs about 250 grams but I used a thicker aluminum. You can get super lightweight stoves made from titanium for some coin. Eith...

Re: Looking for a Multiday with Trees that my dog can do too

There is significant windshield time involved to access, but my new favorite area to explore is the White Mountain Apache forest - west and south of Reservation Lake. There are not many 'trails' to speak of but to me that is a benefit. That does look interesting and I do like the Mt Baldy area. I h...

I'm marking that down for a future trip. Thank you for the tip!

Re: Looking for a Multiday with Trees that my dog can do too

Thank you! This seems perfect. I don't know why it skipped my mind. We'll be on foot. Is there a safe-ish place to park a car for a few days or is it better to be dropped off?

Looking for a Multiday with Trees that my dog can do too

We're aiming for August time frame. I'm looking for a multi-day for my dog and I. We'd need some water sources along the way, running creeks, streams, rivers would be the best but we're open. I'd really like some trees to keep us cool (also I live in Phoenix and I tend to get bored of the desert. I'...
