Hiking Partner

Looking for a hiking partner. I've been away from it too long and really want to get serious again. Probably need to start moderately but willing to push myself.

If anyone's interested in doing The Pass MountainTrail in Usery Mountain this Saturday...let me know.

Thanks,

Marty

Thanks for the info. Its too bad they closed the trail because it was a nice 7.4 mile out and back trip with some beautiful views from up top.

FLUME TRAIL

Hi All, Just have a question regarding the Flume Trail up in Strawberry. I've heard that the flume has been dismantled...does anyone know if this is true? If so, is the trail still accessible or have they rerouted the water down the side of the mountain? I've haven't hiked there in a couple years an...

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for the quick reply and the info. I assume the dirt road can be traveled by car too? I have a 4 wheel drive but others who may go..do not.

Again, appreciate your help.

West Clear Creek

Hi Folks, Was wondering if anyone can recommend the best route for West Clear Creek 17 that is about a 5 to 6 miles round trip hike and includes some of the great water holes I've seen in the galleries. We would be traveling from Phoenix and would like the easiest quickest way to get there too. Than...

I second that Joe. I think you should just name a place and time of your choosing for the BBQ and those that can make it great! The compass/map class schedule can be discussed there.

I don't really care where we have it or how we have it. I'd just like to learn the proper use of a compass as well as understanding a topo map and also meet fellow hikers. I think the whole idea of this is to share information and have fun. Again, I'm open to anything and anywhere. Just let me know ...

Hey Matt,

Picked up a cheapo Ozark Trail "Lensatic Compass" at Walmart tonight for $4.97. Hope this will suffice for the class :?:

Thanks...this is just what I was looking for...a nice hike with cooler temps...not too far to drive for a day hike and also the possibility of some swimmming...perfect! :D

Matt...that works for me. I definitely could use that type of class as I got stranded out in the Mazatal Mountains recently for 9 hours and vowed not to let that happen again..

Then we BBQ... :)
