Re: Montezuma Pass TH
Thanks, everyone. Great infos. Now I just have to get myself to the trailhead. I'm also concerned about resupply - I was planning on sending packages to the Patagonia post office, and La Posta Quemada, but I assume they are or may get closed.nI haven't been able to get a hold of them over the phone.

Montezuma Pass TH
I was planning on spending the first night in the car so I could get an early start. Then read that sleeping in the car is not ok. Anyone know more about this? Is there a place to camp close by? Or a place to park and sleep in the car?

@desertadapted
Thanks for the reply. I'm fairly settled for mid March at this point. I'm assuming I need to be prepared for 30ies at night, and nice warm to hot during days. And yes, I've got guthook app. Glad to know the trail is easy to follow.

Re: Early 2020 NOBO AZT - Looking for Partner
Woops, messed up! I am planning on going south to north, about 250 miles only. So all I care about is the likely snow level of the most southern 250 miles.

Re: Early 2020 NOBO AZT - Looking for Partner
I'm hoping to start around the same time SOBO. Not looking for a partner as I like going by myself, but would be interested in sharing shuttle. Dates somewhat flexible - I'm still trying to find out what trail conditions are likely to be - don't want to be stuck in snow for long stretches.

Re: Good start time for the AZT
Hiking will be slow, as in 10-15 mi per day, and I'm planning for 3 weeks. So the weather further north is of no concern to me, only the 250 most southern miles. Sorry, should have been more clear.

Good start time for the AZT
I'm planning on section hiking the AZT starting early next year. Never hiked in Arizona, and really don't know much of anything about it. All of my backpacking experience is in the Pacific NW. But I am hugely excited about extending the hiking season. I don't mind the occassional little snow field, ...
