I didn't get any cool hiking stuff... yet! Got an REI giftcard and enough $$ for a nice spree, though! Maybe I'll get one of them Camelbak bottle dryer thingies, while I'm at it! :D

Those are the McDowell Mountains. Check out the Fountain Hills area in the traildex, http://hikearizona.com/subRegion-Hikes.php?RID=40

Other than the developed campgrounds at each rim, any camping in Grand Canyon Nat. Park requires a backcountry permit. The permit is also needed for BA and the other campgrounds below the rim.
