I should have called it Deer Head spring not Deer Spring.

Re: Mt. Wrightson Overnighter...

If it's April 4-5, I'm in. I have a little grill top I can bring; if someone has a bigger one that would be better. If I recall there is good hardwood for cooking to be had at Josephine. It would be cool to carpool with anyone coming from Phx.

Re: Deadman Canyon Waterfalls Mazatzals

Unfortunately, my wife has "other plans" for us this w/e so I can't go. I have a score to settle w/ the western Mad-as-Hells, so sometime I would love to hike some of the trails that start at the Verde with you. BTW, Te-Wa, let me know when you want to hike the Chiricahuas if you want a (s...

I am in. I did Turkey/Spud Rock/Manning/Devil's Bathtub about 15 years ago, shortly after the fires; Turkey was badly burned, so it will be interesting to see how much it has recovered. There will be good water at Deer Spring at the head of Turkey (unburned area), in addition to Manning. I have neve...

Night hikers going with wally and myself It now looks like I won't be able to do this except as a night hike for the first leg (darn cops just keep arresting people). How far is it to Plow Saddle Spring? And what time do you think we would actually hit the TH? And how good is the trail down to Plow...

Re: Trans-supes hike early January

New Year's weekend won't work for me. The weekend of the 9th would be best for me. The other weekends are iffy (in the middle of a big project). Even the 9th is iffy. Does it have to be Jan.? My project should be over by Feb.

Any of the routes are fine with me.

Chiricahua Crest July 4 weekend

I am planning to hike the Chiricahua Crest over the July 4th weekend. Anyone want to come? I did this last year. There are some (badly) burned spots, but also some beautiful ones. And great views.
