Hey all,
Naturally so, I am having some last minute gear doubts. Namely, my outershell. I think the Torrentshell might be waste of weight and money considering I have a Feathered Friends Jackorack Windjacket that is water repellant. What do yall think? I start sobo Sunday.
Also, do ya think a 10 degree bag is a bit too warm?
Is a Patagonia Torrentshell overkill for sobo thru starting in 3 days?

I'd go with the Torrentshell or some other true rain protection. I've been experienced considerable rainfall at this time of year (all-day, multi-day) in various parts of AZ, including the Superstitions and Mazatzals along the AZT. Sometimes I feel like I haven't entirely dried out from last November in the Superstitions (https://hikearizona.com/dex2/profile.ph ... 97_______1).

You're starting late and it will get darn cold in places and there's a good possibility you'll have to deal with snow. I think you'll be glad to have a warm bag.

I agree on the bag, too. Lows around freezing will probably be the most common, but I typically get at least one night below 20F for every 5-6 trail nights in the second half of November, especially higher up. Grand Canyon, along the Mogollon Rim, Mazatzals, Sierra Ancha, Superstitions, Rincons, Galiuros, Gila Wilderness are all places I've seen temps in the 10-15F range in November.
