Havasupai Falls

Post by MARLIN »

Has anyone been to Havasupai Falls after the floods? I am thinking about going there sometime in September but would like to hear if it’s worth it, is it still beautiful there? Any feedback is appreciated…. Thanks

There are new falls and it is supposed to be really interesting to see the changes. I have seen quite a few postings on the internet from people who have been there recently. The two new falls are swimmable, with people jumping off the top of one of them.

Here are a bunch of new write-ups with photosets:

Hey Marlin,

I was there, but years ago. Well worth the trip! Havasupai doesn't mean "People of the Blue Green Water" for nothing.

I was there last weekend. The falls are swimmable. They have rebuilt the "dams" holding back the water. The campground is the worst of the damage, the creek now has 4 channels running trough it, so there is a bunch of islands everywhere. Lots of uprooted stumps amd roots, and most of the trees are dead. At least, there was no leaves on them.
