This Sunday, 10/10/10, I'll be attempting to get to the top of Cheops Plateau. I know some of you will be at the canyon this Saturday for the symposium or other hikes so if you want to join me that would be great.
I did this hike last October but chickened-out on the climb just short of the top. With a recent Mother Lode under my belt, I think I've gained just enough confidence to try again.
I'm hoping to be at South Kaibab TH by 4 or 4:30am and back up some time around sunset or a little after.

Re: Cheops Plateau
That is very cool. Hope you make it this time!
At my age, I think my goal is going to have to be to just hike all the trails in the Canyon, which is going to take me quite awhile. Some of this off-trail stuff is pretty hard on the old gal's knees.
