I know there's some really nice petroglyphs in the Heard Scout Pueblo. At least I'm pretty sure they are in the scout property and not the park.

And I know there are lots of snakes. Some even climb trees.

But I don't know of any apple trees up there. Depending what you compare it to, I bet South Mountain could be a relative Eden anyway.

On a related subject, one of the most sacred mountains was our very own Camelback. With it's location to the river valley and all of it's caves it held many shrines. I saw some cotton wrapped cane "cigarettes" that were found not too many years ago in one of the more popular caves. Papago Butte and it's hole in the rock was an astronomical site for the Hohokam. Evidence shows that at both of these mountains the preferred attire for the Hohokam surprisingly wasn't yoga pants.

90 percent of all headaches are caused by dehydration of the brain, because you don't drink enough water
While I will admit that may be true while hiking (and possibly the next 12-24 hours) this sounds more like the fake news we are being subjected to lately... I seriously doubt that is even close to true for ALL headaches.

Makes me wonder Joe, where are these trivia facts coming from? Facebook? Twitter? Trump cabinet-members-to-be?
Wink emoticon here... whoops, it appears they've been censored.

Studies hint that spending time in green space — nature preserves, woodlands, and even urban parks — may ease people’s stress levels. Hence the importance of participating and/or contributing to hikearizona.com for future generations to live stress free.
Does the desert have green space?
Maybe this is why I'm so stressed out all the time.*
I might have to move to Vermont.

*This may be the biggest lie I've ever posted on this site (of many).

Zebra-tailed lizards run up to 18mph on their back feet at Grand Canyon
Hmmm, I wonder how fast they run in the lower elevations of The Valley?
:-k
Faster due to more oxygen in the air? Slower due to higher air density?

It's all too confusing... :?

When the temperature reaches 110 degrees they can only run half as fast because to avoid burning their feet they take turns riding piggy back style. Just sayin... :o

It's a known fact that at lower elevations they turn into Chuckwallas, so no not fast at all.

While Chuckwallas are very slow moving in probably 99.99% of the sightings, I HAVE seen one move fast, albeit for maybe 10 feet or so... of course that only happened because I was trying to take a photo of it.

50% of hiking deaths in Grand Canyon are caused by heat stroke followed by heart attacks.
Huh. I thought one of the other trivia posts said it was squirrels. :?

The most famous tiny community in Arizona is Tortilla Flats.
Is Tombstone too big to be tiny? Jerome is pretty tiny and seems more famous than Tortilla Flat.

Nothing was pretty famous until the sign came down a few years ago.

Tombstone AZ 2016 - population 1,380
Jerome AZ 2016 - population 444
Tortilla Flat, not sure... wiki says 6 and doubting it's over 443

Nothing AZ 2008 - population 0 aka landmark
( at its height, Nothing had a population of 4 )

 OK, how about defining "famous"?

Or better yet:
Arizona may be home to largest city if Phoenix and Tucson merge.
The largest city where? In Arizona?
Phoenix: 1,445,000
Tucson: 520,000
Combined: 1,945,000

Hell, lets add ... ALL of Arizona: 6.7 million

New York City: 8.2 million
There are 39 cities in addition to NYC globally (city limits only) that exceed the population of the entire state of Arizona.

The Phoenix Metro Area is 3.6 million. Add Tucson Metro and get 4.6 million.
Metro Areas in the US that are larger:
New York: 23.7 million
Los Angeles: 13.2
Chicago: 9.5
Philadelphia: 7.1
Houston: 4.9
There are 49 global metro areas larger than the PHX plus Tucson metro areas.

Thanks for the faith! :)

@chumley
You are thinking two dimensional. Fill the space between the two cities, with skyscrapers.
