I do not wish to erase what I've posted in the past, my only regrets are not being more direct in my opinions, to have overly concerned myself whether or not others agree, and to worry if others have had their feelings hurt or not. I have a right to my opinions, so let me clarify and summarize:
1. Nudity has nothing to do with public urination or drunkenness.
2. Someone’s dress or lack thereof is none of my business
3. If people were so concerned about public urination and drunkenness in the Verde Valley, why did they fight so hard to have nudity banned?
4. Confronting someone with a “Razor sharp knife because they are nude is not nice and my pappy didn’t have to teach me that!
5. I’m so tired of people telling me to get a life that I’ve decided to get another life; I’ve grown weary of the lack of compassion and understanding. I’ve had it with the lack of tolerance of other peoples believes.
6. My Pappy taught me many things, but the most important thing he taught me was that it’s OK to disagree, it’s OK to be different, and most importantly, you can only relate to others your experiences with some expectations, you simply cannot bull them into doing things your way.
7. I’m sorry if my humor has offended anyone, it was an attempt to soften my statement.
8. Lastly, I’ve decided to exercise my most inalienable right which is my right to move on.

I've enjoyed Snick's humor and posts. If he does not return, he'll be missed. I've also enjoyed Wiz's postings. I hope he stays here as well.

Wiz is another story. We all need him around too, but for different reasons.
Snick was the word of humor and folk wisdom.
Wiz is the word of all that is scruffy

.
Half of the threads on this forum wouldn't be nearly as interesting without posts from both or either of them.
However - I stand by what I said for Snick equally for Wiz. If the forum does not bring you the pleasure/relief/release/friendship/fun/info that got you interested in it in the first place - well, moving on wouldn't surprise me at all, and I don't think anyone would blame you.
I'd probably leave too if that were the case with me - I might not announce it - but if I didn't enjoy it any longer, I'd probably just stop posting. It's like any other hobby - you keep with it as long as it brings you joy. When it no longer does - you find something else that does.
I'm just sad that they both feel that way.

Well, cheer up! I don't feel that way. Unless you guys decide you want me to take a hike (get it?? take a... never mind), I'm sticking around.

..........................................................................
Somehow, that old story I had taped to my briefcase seems appropriate for this topic. Maybe I will wake up Wednesday and think otherwise and delete it. Anyway, here it is for all of you who read it Tuesday night.
Ya know Monte-
I really want to say this tactfully..............
I imagine others will quit posting eulogies when
they want to.....not when
you want them to. This thread will die out when people are done with it. It seems to me that this whole thing got started by people lacking respect for others' posts. Beyond your initial comments, I can't see that what you wrote is inappropriate, but because, at the time you posted it, you questioned your post enough to consider deleting it later, it may be worth thinking about the others you are pointing it at, BEFORE posting it in the first place.
ONLY, and I repeat ONLY, when free and open dialogue exists does there exist the possibility of enlightening one to your viewpoint and a free exchange of ideas occurring. Other than that- No one is listening or hearing.
thanks
Pete

...as Peter of Frederick stumbles down from the vegetable crate, an enraged crowd of HAZites crawl up a switchback and grab him. Hoisting him over their heads, they take him back to a campsite just outside of Phantom Ranch where the remains of Montezumawell still smolders at the stake. The crowd of once good and peaceful HAZites, led by one Snick of Snack, hoist up large stones and encircle poor Peter of Frederick... details at 10.
Sorry, I couldn't resist...

Meanwhile, the young man fainted "dead way" and fell back toward the "non-edge" side and was saved.
I admit that I am dense sometimes.
For me, that story had the dual benefits of being obscure AND confusing. Good story, but I can only make it work if the two guys are Snick and me. The only thing I'm not sure of is which one am I? It would work if I were the old guy and jumped, but I stayed and he jumped. So I don't get it.
I'm not trying to start anything, please don't flame me! I'm already starting to get a complex!
