@chumley
Because Christmas is just another day to me...don't celebrate any holidays except July 4th, and that only because I like fireworks!

Trust me it's okay. When you live alone and don't have kids/family there really is no point in following the programmed behavior routine. ;)

Why am I on this forum? Because I'm Grandma now, and I don't have to cook, clean or decorate. All I have to do now is show up with presents at my son's house. I am sitting at the kitchen counter, talking to my family, messing around on the internet, and watching OTHER people cook. All that cooking and decorating stuff used to make me feel so inadequate, anxious, miserable and exhausted when, due to societal expectations, I felt I had to do it for my family. But now I can enjoy Christmas, because other people do the cooking and decorating, and they actually seem to like doing it. (I myself haven't put up a single Christmas decoration in at least 5 years! YAY!!!)

One thing I still do.My daughter(28) and I still find a few ceramic ornaments and hand paint and date them.I suck at painting but she is great.Just a simple tradition we enjoy to do and look back at the old ones we have made over the years.

Merry Christmas everybody! Today's feasts are safely packed away and I'm struggling to get the last block carved for this year's card.

Merry Christmas everyone! This year's card was printed almost on time for a change, although I'm not entirely done yet.
