Mountain lion killed after running through Peoria yards
"I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There's a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts."

Understand, when you eat meat, that something did die. You have an obligation to value it - not just the sirloin but also all those wonderful tough little bits.

Re: Mountain lion killed after running through Peoria yards
I once saw a fox at a camp near Lake Pleasant with another camp counselor, who immediately claimed that it was a mountain lion to the other campers before I could explain that it was a fox, so there are people out there who make things up or see things differently. People used to not believe me when I told them all the animals I saw on my hikes, so I started photographing them to prove them wrong. Before that, I was not into photography and never took photos.Hippy wrote: I once saw and reported a Mtn lion...no one ever believed one could be so close to the neighborhood... believe me now?!
Spotting a Mtn lion on a bike trail isn't something you make up...

Re: Mountain lion killed after running through Peoria yards
I'd be more concerned about a fox than a lion, if it were hanging too close. There are too many rabid foxes about. More people are exposed to rabies than are attacked by mountain lions.gummo wrote:I once saw a fox at a camp near Lake Pleasant with another camp counselor, who immediately claimed that it was a mountain lion to the other campers before I could explain that it was a fox

@big_load
But then we factor in rabid mountain lions. Two that I know of by Sheep Bridge. One jumped a kid on a quad and luckily he was wearing a helmet. Then my favorite a camper whacks one with a skillet. I've found myself wearing a sidearm more the last couple of years, especially after my wife pointed out how useful it is at the bottom of the pack.
