Deer Creek/Thunder River Loop, October 28th to 30th. First night at Deer Creek and second night at Upper Tapeats. Total mileage is around 26 over 3 days. So far there's 3 of us (Preston, Joe, Me) going but I'd like to add 1 or 2 more. The catch is you need to have a vehicle that can get to the trailhead.

That group went by when Dave and Joe were helping my daughter up a climb. I have some video of it.

Yes, that's my group! Thanks for the photos! Video would be nice to see, too. I'm not in those photos. I was on another one of the blue rafts. I wear one of those ridiculous hats with the big flap over the back of my neck, a very light beige, same as profile photo. I ended up with a great group! I was the permit holder. No boaters I knew could get away for 25 days, so I went to the social media to find qualified boaters. I had not met any of them before. We had a lot of skill and experience to work with, plus one newbie from Hawaii, who flipped once in Mile 29, but finally caught on and by the time we reached Hermit he was going for it. A very athletic 63 years old, his first time rowing any kind of boat. Our 4 kayakers--three guys and a gal--were all expert creekers from Colorado, and super helpful on the trip. We carry all their food and gear, and expect extra work in return. As rafters, we call them "cling-ons," "leeches," and "dirtbag kayakers," etc., but in this case, only in jest. They were young and strong and very helpful in camp, setting up groovers and the kitchen. Ran safety for us on the river.

I just checked my video. In addition to the raft and two kayakers Dave showed, I have a white/gray pontooned raft with blue tarp wrapped around something? with one person on it. It was just before those other boats.

The grey one is Augie Eischen in his cataraft. What date were the photos taken? We hiked to Deer Creek patio on the 24th.

Really, the 24th? The pictures were taken the 29th between Tapeats Creek and Deer Creek.
