Moving to Casa Grande / Phoenix / Kayenta / Anywhere
Well, I guess I'll have to change my screen name soon. My wife and I are going to be moving to Casa Grande before the end of the year. Listing the house for sale up in Page. No job yet, kinda scary, but my wife needs to go back to school full time. Even commuting to and from UofA, with the house prices in CG we'll save money over moving to El Pueblo. Big change - this will be my first time living off The Plateau since '99. Eeek!

If you blow a tire Liz, before you step out of the RV just put a brace on your leg, grab a pair of crutches and you will not have to wait for AAA.

I had pretty much exorcised from my memory bank your comment about going commando.
Now this.
Anyone else having images of Breaking Bad with azbacpkr and her RV out in the desert.

Safe Travel! The wind machine really gets cranked up over there Tuesday and Wednesday, so you are getting out while the getting is good.

It's now 9:30 PM Arizona time.
Has there been any reports on our road warrior Liz and her trip out of California this afternoon?
It isn't like her to go this long without a comment or two.
Maybe she has retired for the night and is
in her cozy home on wheels. ;)

Thanks for your concern! I camped for the night at Buckskin Mtn. State Park in Parker, AZ. It was very nice, but the internet didn't work. You want my phone number?SuperstitionGuy wrote:It's now 9:30 PM Arizona time.

I'm now eating breakfast in Lake Havasu City, in a parking lot by McDonald's where there is internet!

Re: Moving to Casa Grande / Phoenix / Kayenta / Anywhere
Tonight I'm camping in front of an automotive repair shop. "The Beast" had to be towed into Kingman. I'm sure glad I upgraded to 100-mile RV towing on my AAA last week! $30 well-spent. I also got to ride in the tow truck.
So, the main problem was the distributor was all out of whack. But then, once they had gotten that fixed, we went for a drive. I went with the owner. He drove up the freeway to the east, up that long hill. The Beast was running great. Loads of power, and no popping or missing sounds. He turned us around at the bridge and we were heading back down when the engine just quit. It died.
I am very lucky it all happened with the shop owner driving it! He pulled off to the side as much as possible. He sent for his mechanic, who came up and towed us with a tow strap with an old Chevy pickup! So, we got back to the shop, and set me up to camp here. They have to figure out in the morning if it is some sort of ignition problem or what. It was quittin' time by the time we returned.
This is a better campsite than last night in two respects. One, it's "free" and two, the wifi actually works! The traffic noise will die down pretty soon, but the choo choo trains will go by no matter what.
My future employer has offered a little help, and when I went through various cash, bank accounts and credit card I decided I have enough money to pay for repairs and also get to Williams...
Life in an RV on the road...it's an adventure!

Thanks guys. I think I am in good hands, anyway. This seems to be a really good automotive repair shop. I slept well in their front parking area, also!

They worked on it a while the past hour, but it still will not start. They have to do more trouble-shooting. Meanwhile, I'm comfortable in here. If they have to take off the doghouse (inside-the-cab engine cover) I will move into their office, though. The fumes are a bit much!
