Yup. Oak Creek at Cornville flashed (still rising) --- as did Dry Beaver Creek nearby. Also Sycamore Creek along the Beeline. All in the 1000s of CFS.

Cave Creek and Skunk Creek washes are running, but only in the dozens of cfs.

Everything else looks meh for now. Overnight could change things though if the ground is saturated and a good storm comes through somewhere.

I guess the storm was just late. My rain guage shows 1 & 11/16". Impressive. Some very heavy downpours, flooded streets... :)

Rain over night, and clearing out now. I'm unsure of the totals, as the local airport located southwest of town, is not calculating 3, or 6 hour totals, and they report ` hour totals more than once an hour. Using only the top of the hour figures, it looks like about 1/10th of an inch. However, areas to the west got over 1/2 an inch by radar estimate, the Organ MTs appear to have had over 1/2 an inch by radar estimate, and there is a streak of darker blue indicating over 1/4 of an inch from about where I live, up onto the A trail and Ortega Peak. Important for me, as I want the trail wet and the loose gravel and scree towards the top washed off the round rocks. Ortega was as bad or worse than Organ Needle, 2 days ago.

The front is moving east, so I don't see much more happening. Still some snow forecast up high, but I doubt it.

Very nice rainlog totals from yesterday. Most appears to have come in more of a heavy downpour, but everything has been so dry for so long, a lot was probably absorbed.

I ended up with 1.25" here in Tempe. I was impressed to see a confirmed tornado touched down in Mesa last night:
small ef0 tornado near extension rd and main in palm cove apartment complex. launched empty hot tub and moved it 1300 feet. shingle damage with several large trees knocked down. several eyewitnesses saw the tornado and the flying hot tub.

It looks like the worst of it is pushing south of us, but the forecast low tomorrow night is -7F. That's 30 degrees below average, and 9 degrees below the record for that date.

You know you're a Westerner when you love the rain. I find that I'm always in a good mood when it's raining. I even sleep better than normal when it's raining.
Need more rain.

Daylight Savings Time is back, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. At the very least, it feels early this year. Late March or April seems better. Also, a cold front made it's way south over the last 2 days and we got to 32 overnight. I know how I feel about that.

Hey, it's less than 2 weeks to the Vernal Equinox! Also, it varies depending on latitude, but we're up to the same amount of daylight and angle of sun at noon as we are in early October, the 2nd or 3rd.

It's sugaring season here, with daytime highs above freezing, and nights below. A couple warmers days have the snow cover down to 15 inches, but snow or ice is predicted for four of the next ten days. Mrs. big_load will be on her way to Phoenix in a couple days, so she'll miss most of it. She's looking forward to some sun.

I say yes. You should be back under high pressure, but maybe with winds.
