I know, what happened to that!?!

It will be back, it has to come back. We waited so long, and now this, what gives? This is starting to remind me of 2004, when I lived in Florida and hated it! Hurricanes were a routine after that summer, and October was just another summer month there.

We live in Arizona, we should be glad for the rain. Today was fantastic! Great weather with a bit of rain to keep it cool is always a plus in my book.

Didn't hate Alamogordo, and I don't hate Tucson. Florida is a hell hole. Super humid all the time, rains all the time, and like I mentioned, there were those hurricanes. That is just the weather. It's also still the south, very red neck, flat, swampy loaded with mosquitoes, nothing but sprawl in some areas, and overall not more than a place to go die. However, while I was referring to the hurricanes in that statement, I was no fan of the entire region.

I took full advantage of it... bagging two peaks near Superior in the rain.
:y:
Over almost 5 hours of hiking including light drizzle, steady downpour as well as horizontal stinging rain propelled by high winds over the summits. Although my outer layer was a waterproof (ha! no such thing) hooded windbreaker, by time I reached the first summit I was drenched through and through... even my boots were holding water up to my ankles.

But the best thing about being that wet is you no longer have to worry about getting wet and can enjoy the experience... and keep going to the next peak even though it was invisible to me when I made that choice.
I had a blast and would do it again! :y:

Oh yeah... due to somebody tearing around on an ATV on the muddy road as I drove out the Jeep acquired plenty of mud, even on top. Hitting a few deep puddles on firmer ground at speed took care of most of it before I thought to take a photo. Too late, it already had lost the worst of the mud. Still, it took almost an hour to get all the mud off when I got home.
Not enough rain/puddles along the highway :(

Apache Junction just experienced a very hard steady rain and my back yard is now a lake. Southeast of Ironwood & Broadway. :y:

Quick update as there is a helicopter hovering just west of my house. Most likely a car stuck in downstream side of the wash that crosses 16th Avenue. :o :scared:

Correction - two helicopters - probably TV news stations helicopters videoing the fast water rescue.

Update- fast water rescue consisted of a multi-million dollar fire truck driving into the flooded 16th Avenue wash and extracting the driver. Water was not at all that deep and the driver could easily have walked out. I could have backed up to the stranded van with my Japanese Rice Burner Suzuki, hooked up a chain and pulled him out getting only my feet wet. :sl:

If I did not retire I would be on that call. I was up at 4 am checked the weather radar and noted the AJ/East Valley would get a lot of rain. Enjoyed my walk in the rain this morning, ittle over an inch overnight.

Nice Randy. I managed to squeeze out just .05 at my house.

But of course it managed to rain on my ride to work and now I'm soaked. ](*,)

Snowbowl posted some photos of the peaks today. Snow level appears to have dropped to about 10kft. Still just wet at the base of the chairlift, but it's all white starting not much higher. Along with a lot of aspen gold showing through.
