Would anyone be up for willow valley in the morning with some relaxing for tired muscles and perhaps cocktails/high tea at the Verde Hot Springs afterward?
Pete, I edited this post a little (a lot actually) because it didn't make any sense when I split the topic off of the other willow valley one. Feel free to edit this out and change your message to say anthing you want

I'm off of I-17 and deer valley. Starbucks on Peoria is fine with me. Do we have an idea what time we're to meet up?

Heres another concern. How many high clearance vehicles do we have going? I don't know what the road conditions are like but according to the maps they are unmaintained jeep trails. Which means they are probably OK for an SUV but not for a car. Sophia, I think you said you have an SUV that your taking? If I have to I'll bring my jeep, I was hoping to get a ride from someone though. We need at least two high-clearnce vehicles, one for the trailhead and one to shuttle.

I posted a couple pictures of the falls right that are right next to where we are staying
If need be, I guess that the start and end points are only 3 miles apart. I will volunteer to hike back to the TH to get a vehicle if we only have one that will make it.--Although, I hope that's not the case
I am still trying to recruit my friends to go, one of which does have an SUV. maybe I could borrow my friend's explorer. He will be out of town
It'll all work out.

Cool, if at all possible I'd rather ride up there with someone, Michelle's meeting me for the camp-out. I just don't want to have to drive two jeeps home on sunday, so as long as theres a second SUV I'd like to beg a ride with one of you guys.

Well. I have a montero sport that seems to do pretty well on these roads [thus far] I'm only using up the drivers seat, so that will leave about room for 4 others with me!! asuming non of you smell to bad
He [or she] who meets me at starbucks can catch a ride with me...... perhaps I can trade services for someone to carry one water bottle for me in their pack? I only like to bring a hip-pack, although small, it's very comfortable on these day hikes.

you can skip the extra water bottle if you like. I will be bringing along a water filter (just in case) and you are welcome to use it.

I too am planning on bringing a filter so packing extra water won't be a concern.
Sophia I can meet you and the rest at the starbucks. All we need is a time to meet.

I can drive to Starbucks If AK or Matt need a ride to the West side since both of you are pretty close to me. If theres anyone that I missed on the east side I have room for 5 to Starbucks.I wont be staying the night up there so If I can cruise back with you Sophia that would be great. Is there 5 going is that right and a sixth arriving later? Can we all fit in one vehicle?Stinky? Ill watch for a meeting time. Do you think we'll need any special Equip besides dry bags(Ropes, Dynamite, Helicopter,etc.).

I've decided I'm taking my jeep anyway. Michelle is still meeting me up there, but she is bringing one of her friends (that leaves me out of a ride home with her). I am probably going to go up friday night and camp out then meet you all in the morning at the designated area.
AK I know you've got commitments on sunday, but would you be interested in cruising up with me on friday and spending the night?

Sorry Matt but I can't make it up with you on friday due to prior commitments. So I'll see ya on Saturday.
So Pete, did you figure on a time to meet at Starbucks yet?
Oh and does anyone have an extra drybag? Something in a small maybe?

I have VERY BAD NEWS! I was in an accident yesterday and totaled my SUV.

Very disappointed for many reasons. [I still had the paper licenseplate on it... so sad] I am, however, up and walking around today. A little bruised but more pissed then anything.
I obviously will not be making the trip. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone!! At least the person who hit me was fully insured and it looks like I'll be getting a replacement truck soon [but unfortunately, not by Saturday]. I'm sorry to any and all who needed a ride from me. . .
A little mad and frustrated, woopitup

Sophia-
Oh, I am so sorry to hear about that.
Obviously, we were very much looking forward to meeting you, as well.
I certainly understand why you cant come now. Thanks for letting us know.
Are you sore or hurt at all??
At least it does sound as though everything will work out okay.
I mean..... if you have to get in an accident- sounds like you did it right.
and, of course, if you reconsider-you have a ride.
Or when you are ready to hike again-we'll set up another group.
be good and keep in touch.
-Pete
Sorry

Matt,
we may as well skip the Hot Springs. I was hoping for a larger group, so why dont we have a refreshment at the end of the trail and call it a day
I am doing the willow valley, if I have to do it alone!!!!!!!

Well Pete if you think that your going to come back Saturday, maybe I can catch a ride with you. I seem to be running out of ride options rather quickly. I guess I can hitch hike back!
Sorry to hear about your accident Sopia. I hope everything works out.
