Has anyone been to Ski Valley this summer? Are they running the lift and/or is the restaurant open? Is there music, as in past years? I called them but there is no answer.
Thanks in advance for any current beta.

Would those in the know choose the INA Rd. /Sunrise route over from I-10; or maybe GRANT ? (presuming coming from Phx.) Or another route not mentioned? Again, thanks in advance.

I'd take Ina, although I normally take 79 anyway if I'm coming from up there.

Where in town do you want to go (Generally)?

Well... I know that this thread turned into a detailed firewood/BTU discussion ;) , but the original subject was Summerhaven/Snow Valley so that is the subject of my route question.

Ina must be the way to go as all the guide books suggest it. For some reason I'd tend to miss something and get lost. Grant hasn't failed me. Though I've avoided Tucson like the plague since they tore up 1-10, maybe Grant isn't an option now, I don't know.
I use Grant on the universal HAZ Tucson map going by Google's recommendation

Speedway looks less complicated but it is sloooooow as hell.
This thread diversion stuff never happened until Kurt voted for the beer chugger.

Ordinarily I would recommend just taking Grant since it connects right up with Tanque Verde, but they have Grant all torn up near TMC between Rosemont and Craycroft. That really leaves Speedway to Wilmot and up and around to Tanque Verde.

Of
course he can chug it, he was drinking Bud Light (Sam Adams Light for Gates - You think that he believes in what S.A. fought for?) - At least Crowley has
some taste and had a Blue Moon (even though
it's made by Coors).
Life's too short to drink fizzy-yellow beer.

or Ina to Kolb, to Tanque Verde. I've avoided Speedway since I moved from midtown in 97

Back to BTU's. I was reading the Mother Earth News before most of you were even a gleam in your daddy's eye. ;) Back when it was actually "counter cultural." Whole Earth Catalog and Organic Gardening, too! But I haven't looked at Mother Earth News lately.
I went to the hardware store today to find out how much the weather stripping and enough plastic for my windows will cost. Probably around $100 total, or maybe less. So that's what I'll be doing. Anything that Mother Earth News can come up with would probably cost more than that.
