So I have seen and read on other forums of all the different UFO sightings, dead bodies, illegal grow operations, etc. etc. that people have come across while in the back country. So I thought this could be fun sharing stories about things everyone has come across while in the back country. So what things have you come across that made you uncomfortable or that you thought were pretty crazy?

Rob, the brother in law of my coworker found this thing 2.5 miles southeast of Mount Turnbull on the San Carlos Res. last fall. This photo was on display in Bylas.

Are the paddles at the ends of the front legs actually its scapulas (shoulder blades)?

Looks like a cat to me. The rear feet are black with recessed claws, and that leads me to think it's not a fox or coyote. I like the idea that the shovel-shaped bones at the bottom of the feet are shoulder-area bones that somehow look like feet due to disarticulation.

those are definitely scapulae with the single humerus articulating with them, and then the paired radius & ulna beyond...upside down = disarticulated.

The last time I was up at Reavis Ranch, I took a night hike up to the circlestone ruins. I'm pretty sure they were deer, I hope, but I was continuously seeing glowing green eyes just outside of my headlamps range. I tried flashing them with my camera but nothing would show up. It was pretty creepy whatever they were.

I had a similar experience on Derrick trail outside of Payson... Never saw the whole body, but it was pretty large, assuming it was Elk. It was a pretty weird feeling for sure.

Deer have green eyes and the Mogollon Monster has RED eyes.

Garden variety cow eyes also come in nightshade green
