I ended up eating a few (not by choice) on my trip up Pickepost yesterday. I could do without those dang things...and I have even stayed clear of the McDowells this spring.

While windy and dusty at times, this weather is still awesome, for late May! Will it really be 115 in a few weeks?

Awesome for the folks down south, I suppose. I will consider winter over when I no longer have to use space heaters on a daily basis.

I did see there was some snow flying in Flagstaff this morning. It snowed on us on Memorial Day in the White Mountains two years ago too. While I enjoy it, I can appreciate that if you endure it all winter you're ready for a change.

Thank you Chumley. To me, it is winter October through May up here. Yes, there are periods of non-winter weather, but if snows falls that month, I consider it winter. That is exacerbated by the fact that there is no true summer up here. June is usually dry and warm, but then it is wet and rainy enough days July through September to not feel like summer. Anyways, I am working on relocating to a warmer climate this year. You should be living somewhere colder, or more mild. But, then, you wouldn't have those winter getaways to look forward to

@nikorock28 I like Phoenix for that reason, plus it has (so far) surprised me how much I like it. The next few months will be hot and I will travel to higher terrain, but it isn't cold and wet here. Also, this pleasant weather down here can be nasty up there. I recall the last Memorial Day I had in Flag, was super windy and cold!

Well said. I miss sunny days. There are sunny days up here, but many more overcast days than when compared to the valley. That makes the cooler temperatures seem even more cool. For example, I was in Prescott Valley two weekends ago and it was cool and overcast; went down to the valley and not a cloud in the sky. That pattern seems to be even more prominent at the canyon; on days where it has snowed at GCNP, my parents tell me it is sunny in PV. The past week it has been incredibly windy and when the wind gusted, it truly was cold, even mid day. It is overcast again today. I had to warm my shoes up via space heater this morning prior to putting them on. I also like to do the window test in my abode... cold to the touch. There, I think that was enough mindless chit chat for now.

Meanwhile, I moved back to Williams yesterday from Page. Brrr! 37 this morning, space heater and propane heater. Went back to Page today to get my other vehicle. Of course, it was quite balmy there. I would not have looked forward to the 100+ temps that are coming there in Page, though. I think summers in Williams are super nice. Looking forward to some pine tree peaks all summer long, and some pine tree bike rides.

Welcome back to Williams Liz! I would take 100 and sunny over yet another cool and overcast day. Freezing at my desk in just a long sleeved shirt. I will have to warm up my feet at lunch.

Endless Winter is where it's at. I loved that I could ride on Mt Hood 51 weeks out of the year and I'm hopefully going to get at least 7 months this year. I could do w/out working in 90 degree 90% humidity of Galveston in a POLY COTTON uniform. You can only take so many layers off, but you can always add a layer. I realized with my visit last week that I'm definitely acclimated to mountain temps. Besides it's fun never knowing the next day if it's a shorts or winter coat day.

To each his own, although I am spoiled. I grew up in San Diego, and go there often. I think it has a great climate, and I'm comfortable with that climate, feel right at home. I lived in Hawaii for many years, and liked the Kona climate just fine, (not as rainy as other parts of the Islands and never super hot.) I wouldn't make the comparison you did, citing Galveston, since I've never been there. There are a number of nice climates around the world. You don't have to choose between toe-freezing cold and sauna heat. There are some nice in-between places. Me, I just move the motorhome when it starts to get cold, and move it again when it gets too hot.

Blanco's water dish was frozen solid--not just the surface--right here in Arizona the other morning. So apparently it was chilly for a few hours near Hannagan.
