Best place to grab a post-hike craft beer

Inspired by the mexican food/pizza posts, I'm wondering about good places around AZ to grab a beer after a hike or backpack trip. The smaller/more obscure towns would be especially appreciated, because I'm used to only coming across only the cheap domestics at those places.
Some places I've stopped at post-hike:
Prescott- Prescott Brewery. The Petrified Porter is good, but their seasonal "Achocolypse" (which is Petrified Porter brewed with milk chocolate) is absolutely amazing.
Flagstaff- Lumberyard Brewery. Imperial Red was awesome.
Sedona- Oak Creek Brewery. Boo. Not a single redeeming quality here. Chicken quesadilla was mediocre, beer was watery.
Tucson- Nimbus Brewey- Though I love Old Monkeyshine from a bottle,it was twice as good on tap.
In Tempe we'll frequent Boulders on Broadway and Four Peaks after gym climbing. Actually, we're spoiled here in Tempe. Example: I live next to the most ghetto looking corner store ever, but upon walking in you'd think you're in a Total Wine.
Yardhouse would be a good place to hit on the way in town from the west. I suppose Rock Bottom from the northwest, though I wasn't impressed with any of their beers.
Any ideas? I'm particularly curious about the Payson area.

Haha.. They didn't seem too upset about it. There is always plenty to try at that place.

I especially wasn't upset once he nursed one last pint out of the tap for me.

I was doing some MTBing in Ca. a couple years ago with my uncle who lives in Mill Valley on the SF bay. We killed ourselves on Mt Tamalpais. After that, we stopped at a place called the 2am club which is the bar on the Huey Lewis alblum Sports. I swilled more than several Anchor Steams. Anchor Steam Beer derives its unusual name from the 19th century when “steam” was a nickname for beer brewed on the West Coast of America under primitive conditions and without ice. I've been trying to find it here in Az. without luck. If you've heard of it being purveyed locally PLEASE post. I found a wholesaler on the interweb but not having a business license kind of puts the kabosh on buying it from them. By the way, there are some really neat trails and an old stone based fire tower on Mt Tamalpais. Lots of history and GREAT views of the bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Anchor is around. I see it in Fry's once in a while. You need to look
before you've had a couple.

That's a beer I never cared for. But if you are in SF, and in need of a bar, check out Zeitgeist, just off Market, a little bit up from the Castro. Awesome jukebox!

?? Anchor is easy to find. You can get Steam in almost every grocer in the valley. sometimes the Porter and Liberty, too.

Likely the same is true at other Az. locations, but the Tempe Total Wine store put in a 12 (I think) tap station for filling (re-filling) growlers.
Some micros are just $8 (64 oz.).

It's amazing who you meet wearing a HAZ tshirt or sporting a HAZ sticker on your car! Apparently Flannys is an unofficial HAZ hangout. Another random sighting tonight. At least this time I remembered to share some HAZ bumper stickers. (Espi, sorry I forgot about them last time.) it's good to know people who like HAZ also like good beer!

Hmmm, I just might have to try out the Handlebar in AJ that several posters mention. After my hike this weekend, I think I am going to be very interested in pullin back a cold one. Thanks!
