Well, it is 21 degrees on my porch, 5:30 a.m., but it didn't snow. And it is clear right now. And the birds are singing.

It's for my Geology of Arizona class...but I'm taking more than just one (geology is my minor). This semester I also have Oceanography and a Historical Geology lab.

Sounds fun. I go to NAU, too, but all online, so science is out as a major.

We didn't get much precipitation, only 29/100ths total, but it was 18 last night in Flagstaff. With a high of only 39, it was much colder than normal yesterday.

Tucson area got a little more in yesterday's round. I'm lovin the snowy webcam on Kitt Peak today. How often does that happen at the end of April?

I remember back over Memorial Day 2008 we had a winter/spring storm in these parts. It was a mix of snow that melted fast and rain in Flagstaff, but all snow up on the San Francisco Peaks. It made for a very rare and pretty scene at the end of May with fresh, white snow up there on the Peaks. I didn't care for the cold at the end of May, but it was pretty.

Crazy windy today. It is actually roaring. A few trees and power poles down, and a couple of broken plate glass windows. I am amazed the internet is up (I shouldn't jinx it, huh?) I-40 has been closed since yesterday between Two Guns and Winslow.
The weather report says gusts to 55, but most of us are thinking some of them are 60-70.

Yup, it's just another lovely spring day in northern Arizona.

What, you mean you don't want to go outside and "enjoy" the wind? What good is Flagstaff's Wind Celebration if no one is going to go out to it and "enjoy" the windy season? ;)

I think it would rip my kite to shreds! I am glad my school bus route is in town--would not want to be the gal driving to Vernon. I am surprised they didn't cancel the out of town routes.

It was a pretty sad day yesterday, with a high of 63 like that. 20-30mph in 63 degree weather would've been okay, but those gusts up to 60 kept me inside.

To top off the week, it is now trying to either rain or snow, or both.

Snowed on us on at the base of the Mazatzals on the way home from work and a dusting of snow in our yard in Payson. The rim was covered with snow from the top to the bottom was in the sun long enough to see it...

Was camping at Christopher Creek and noted the cloud changes wednesday afternoon. Surprized how much dust was in the air. Sitting in the campground and was watching clouds form and appear overhead. Debated leaving thursday, and noted the Rim was socked in with clouds. So packed up and left a day early, quite the wind storm on the way home, especially in the Rye area.
