AZT #14 Day Hiking Access

Re: Passage 14 day hiking access points. Could not find west side access road to Mountainview Tank per AZT Guidebook - private ranch road. East side access in the Day Hikers Guide via Palomita Road not possible now. Instead access Camino Rio Road at north end of Mammoth at south side of entrance to dialysis center. Very good dirt road parallels rail line. Drive 4.7 miles north to Gapgage Wash (across from railroad trestle on east side of road). Wash road was in good shape mid-January, high clearance no 4WD. 5.3 miles to trail, which is 12.2 miles north of Tiger Mine TH. Note: road goes between corral and water tanks at 4.4 miles.
