Just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention. HAZ Classified is a great way to advertise items for sale. I check that site first then am forced to go shopping. *grin*

I went to the Army Surplus on Extension and Main in Mesa Saturday for the first time, some used things but mostly new. And of course I went to Popular and REI. I hit them all Saturday.

Glad hiking is free except for gas and parking! I'm broke now! HAHAHA So keep posting to the HAZ Classified! ;)

Sherilee,

I'd recommend sticking with Popular and REI. The army surplus place seems to be more expensive with most stuff and does not have a good return policy. At REI or Popular you can just about return ANYTHING for ANY reason. Plus, the people at either one can help you pick out the best gear for your needs. I've never been able to get good help at the army place. Also, both of them give you a discount after spending so much money per year. I think I have a permanent discount at Popular since we go in so often. They have GREAT clearance sales. I always manage to buy something even if they don't have what I went in for. :-)

Most of my gear (packs, web gear and cooking utensils) is military surplus. Mostly everthing else is REI or Popular. I have had very good customer service at all three, with Popular being the best. Clothing I buy from Campmor. Popular has very, very good clearance sales.
