A short red dress and high heels is far from the usual wardrobe worn (or recommended) by those hiking up one of Colorado’s fourteeners.

There are some things that you just can't un-see.

I couldn't read the article, but I could see that the photo was from Quandary, which is pretty much a walk-up on a nice, smooth trail.

It has all been a lie. Shows really how easy it is to do these peaks.

How many have you done in heels and a skirt? I have only done one.

Hiking uphill on a halfway decent trail in a heel that chunky (as shown in the picture) would not really be all that difficult, assuming whoever is wearing them is used to heels. Her calves were probably more sore than her feet. Stilettos would be more difficult, and hiking downhill in any heel would be challenging since there's no grip.

I'm just sort of impressed that CO keeps growing 14ers. When I was bagging them ~50 yrs ago - there were only 53 or 54.

She said in the article that she hikes down the trails in regular shoes.

depending on how you define them, there are between 10-74 14ers:

Let’s work on the title of this article some, how about:

“Attention seeking woman seeks more attention by hiking in heals and a dress”

@azbackpackr I know. That’s why I was saying that her “accomplishment” wasn’t all that impressive.

@LindaAnn Ya I was bored today and regretfully read the article, just some dumb college girl who hiked up a couple of peaks in heals. Naturally, I clicked on her IG profile that was linked in the article and it appears her friend is the one who wrote the article too. I hike in Chacos sometimes too, but I ain’t asking my friends to write articles about it lol...thirsty!

Is a woman who can't hike with heals considered injured? Should we send in SAR?

Well when I was a kid we were very proud of the local dentist who set the record. https://www.dailycamera.com/2018/07/07/ ... sance-man/ RIP

Ah, got it. Well, it seems she's just doing this for fun, anyway.
