Environmental Legislative Day, Protecting Arizona’s Environment, Tuesday, February 10, 2004, 8:00 a.m. to Noon, House Lawn at the State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington in Phoenix.
Please accompany the Sierra Club, come learn more about the key environmental issues that will be addressed at the legislature this session, meet your legislators, meet other activists, and learn more about making your voice heard. We have the House Lawn at the Capitol reserved for issue presentations and briefings from legislators. From 8am to 9am we will have bagels and coffee available and invite legislators to join us. The program will begin at 9am and run until around noon and will focus on water, energy and public health issues, plus a bit on the bad bills of the session. We will also have tables and displays from 8am to 12:30 p.m. Please let me know if your group plans to have a table ( how 'bout it HAZ members ?)and whether or not you need anything (like a table or chairs). Also, please consider making appointments with your legislators that day. It is a great opportunity for them to hear from you. Even if you can come for only one or two hours, we hope you will participate. To r.s.v.p. or to ask questions, call Sandy Bahr at (602) 253-8633 or email grand.canyon.chapter@sierraclub.org.

In response to hikeaz's reply: If anybody can go for me:) I'm planning on hiking picacho peak. I sure would like to know what we can do for the poor blind diseased bighorn sheep, caused by the introduction of goats. We can't transplant them, and who is going to hunt down the goats? Maybe I'll go if it's too wet, darn, i've been planning to go on this hike for a month :x
