I was thinking of hiking down into Havasu sometime in September. What sort of tempratures should I expect down there that time of year? Also is it very crowded in September. I'm tring to go when it's still warm enough to swim, but when the crowds are a bit smaller

I think late Sept. or early Oct. would be ideal, based on my yearly backpacks to the other areas in Grand Canyon in Oct. Early Sept. the hiking would likely be hot, though. The water should be warmer than in spring, too, in the early fall. I have only been to Supai in April and May.
The crowds are less on weekdays, and also in winter, when only the polar bear types like to swim. But I'll bet that late Sept. isn't as crowded as spring break!
So if it were me I'd pick weekdays in early Oct. for good swimming and less crowds.
This past time I went the campground was full, but we found places to swim where almost no one was going by, below Mooney Falls about 1/4 mile, and at Navajo Falls.

does anyone know where I can get the monthly temperature averages for havasu. I saw the Temp listing on the hike AZ page and they seemed way to cool. It listed june as being in the 70's. I've heard it's like Phoenix hot in Havasu during the summer
