Does anyone have info on the trailhead at East Bell Rd & 104th St, on the North side of the road. If you head north on this trail, you hit an old dirt road that runs due East into the McDowell Mountains. Does anyone know what this road was for historically? Or if you can get to other trails from it? I am having a hard time finding a good trail map for this specific area. It is just North of McDowell Mountain Ranch Subdivision, Scottsdale, 85255

I lived in the mcdowell mtn ranch for 7 years, and hiked that trail all of the time. that road is just to prevent flash flooding of the ranch, if you follow it now it will take you up to the saddle between mcdowell peak and thompson peak, making it easy for a mcdowell peak summit. check the McDowell sonoran preserve website for the trail info, they've been building a loooot of trails in that area now, so all of the old topo maps dont have any of the new ones in it (and they are all new, pretty much)
