I'm doing this trail starting at the Mills Ridge TH, at the end of FR429 just north of Roosevelt Dam. The Falcon Guide book says this section of the trail up to the junction with the Chillicut Trail is 7.4 miles RT and 2850' elevation gain. Anyone interested? I'll likely be making an early start out of Mesa, about 6am, if not sooner.

Sounds interesting. But I was so certain that your Steelers would still be in the playoffs that I made other plans for the 13th & 20th. Keep me posted on future plans.

I told you they weren't getting past the first round. Everyone in and from Pgh saw that coming over a month ago. I'm planning on Reavis Falls in Feb. I might post that one now, even.

My friend recently committed to this hike (non-HAZ member), so there will at least the two of us. FYI.
Note: This is also a section of the AZT, if that means anything to anyone.

My colleague Eric (Morel) will join us. He was with us on the Reavis Falls hike.

That sounds good. Looks like we'll have at least 4.
I would also like to try a section of the Vineyard Trail, which also terminates at this TH. A section of it goes downhill about two miles until it hits a dirt road. Depending on how everyone feels after the main hike, we can discuss if anyone is up for this. It's also part of the AZT.
