I sent out some PM's to folks, who looked active on this site, about hiker matching. So far I haven't gotten any responses.

I'm wondering, are there enough people from the northern Yavapai county, southern Coconino county area to start a hiking group? Basically, extend a 70 mile radius from the Peaks and consider that the targeted area. It could be based on this forum, with informal get togethers and hikes, or we could to take it off site to a yahoo group, or something like that.

Ideally it would be here, since the more active we are on this site, the more likely we are to attract new members.

Remember, this would be a FREE group, no fees, no money involved. I am opposed to dues for a hiking association or club. :gun:

Has anyone done something like this in their area? or, have people pretty much just gone the individual hiker route? 8)

I'm thinking of some group activities to swimming places like Fossil Creek, and maybe some places in the Tonto NF, also Peaks hikes, Sedona area hikes, and spur of the moment after work stuff like bike rides to Fischer Point, or last minute camping trips along Wet Beaver Creek. :gun:

I've done some hiking around Winslow/Holbrook, and north of Flagstaff, since I used to live there. Don't get down there as much as I would like/used to...but I make up for it with what I can easily reach here. I might be interested in joining in some of the hikes north and east of Flag. South of Flag takes a bit more time for me to reach.
