Hello everyone!
Looking for any tips on a possible Lake Havasu day hike. Going to be there for other reasons this weekend and want to get in a quick Saturday AM hike.
Thanks
The Junks!

Awhile back I was corresponding with a gal who posted on here, Misti Powell, who had just moved to that area. I even faxed her a four-page list of hikes for the area, which I had picked up on one of many trips there. She just disappeared, though, and never told me if she had received my fax or email. Hope nothing bad happened to her. She probably just got busy.
I usually bike when I'm there, though, and I am usually busy with a business enterprise when I'm there, also, so I don't have a lot of time to explore. There are mountains all around, and if you go south from town toward Parker, there are obvious canyons off to the left you can just park and hike up. I have done that, but can't say exactly where they were, except they were fairly close to Cattail Cove. North of town you can also see canyons leading off from the highway, you could hike up. There is also a very easy stroll all along the lake in Windsor Beach State Park--it is suitable for trail running, and you can get in maybe 4 to 6 miles that way. You can get into there for free right behind the Motel 6--look for the road leading into there with a gate across it--you can walk in. We always stay at that Motel 6 (there are two, it's the one by the lake) so I always walk on that trail and bike around there. They won't let you mtn. bike on that trail, though.
Also, if you want to drive over to Kingman, there are the Hualapais. They actually have hiking trails.
If you have time, take an evening or early a.m. ride on the ferry that goes across the lake to the casino on the Calif. side. It is VERY cheap, like 3 to 5 bucks or something, and fun! We don't gamble, so we just waited on the dock for the captain to be ready for his return trip. You can ask him about schedule.
I can fax you that list. PM me with fax number. Don't ask me to scan and email it though! I don't have a scanner! If you want I can also copy it and snail mail it, if you have time. I could probably get it into Tuesday's mail, so it would reach Phx. by Wed. or Thurs. Send me your name and address, will be happy to help. It has 32 hikes on it, I think. Some are easy, some are hard.

The hot springs are a short hike from the highway. I haven't heard lately what state they are in but I am sure they are flowing
