There was one where the stat was in quotes that I was curious about...but now I don't remember what it was!
Neat feature for sure!

I also like the advertisements for the HAZ Forum. Joe has his own unique (and hilarious ;) ) sense of humor!

The stat that particularly interested me was "Arizona's 4 major rivers are the Colorado, Little Colorado, Gila and Bill Williams." Why not Salt, San Pedro or Verde? Not to mention Hassayampa, Santa Maria, Paria, Blue, Black, White, etc... I'm just curious what makes a "major river."

OK, this one is cool, Joe. Ray Bradbury lived in Tucson off and on as a child, and went to both Roskruge Elementary and Amphitheater Schools. This was between 1926-1933. My kids went to Amphi as well.

In case some of you were born in barns ;) , Ray Bradbury is a famous sci-fi author. Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Martian Chronicles are three examples of his books.

Yes, and my wife thinks I am to blame for all of it... :sl:

Can we put this additional trivia into a history file so we can go back and relish them?

Arizona Trivia: Contrary to popular belief the San Francisco Peaks nor the White Mountains are considered "the" most sacred mountains in Arizona. The largest city park in the US at 25.5 square miles, South Mountain, is considered the Garden Eden.
Okay...by who? This one has me mystified. And I don't know how you determine relative sacredness...

Exactly. The Navajo consider the San Francisco Peaks to be one of their 4 sacred mountains. With the Apache, it's the same with Baldy.

The Yuma, Mohave, Halchidoma & Maricopa tribes believed God created mankind at South Mountain. The creator decided to bring life into existence so he sat down on Mount Suappoa and let 'er rip! First he started with man. He watched them carefully then weeded out a couple into animals. A woman said to grab all of time became Butterfly. A bad tempered man became Scorpion. A fast boy became Antelope and a jocular fellow became Coyote.

I'm glad somebody likes 'em. Sometimes I put them in and the next morning I run home thinking "what was I thinking" to delete 'em :sl:

The Zuni believe the place where they entered this world is at Ribbon Falls. The Hopi 4th World Sipapu is at the LCR (I think)

In 1912 a 50 mile crack was created by an earthquake near the San Francisco mountain range.
Cool stuff! Where is the crack? I bet it'd be awesome to explore.

There's another set of cracks outside Wupatki that I know of too. Wondering if they might be related.

Arizona Trivia: A small peak in Maricopa County at 742 feet is called Squaw perks Summit. Janet Napolitano could care less unless it brings her publicity. About ten miles away is Squaw Tit.

:sl: ..so true!
