I'm looking into doing a Supes loop xmas weekend. Wondering if anyone knows about water in the vicinity of Angel Basin? I saw an older post from Oct saying that it was dry. Not sure if the last couple of storms helped the water situation or not.

Someone may have a later update but here was the water status as of 12/11 (from Rogers Trough TH to Rogers Cyn-Cliff Dwelling & back),
not at Angel Basin but close.. http://hikearizona.com/TL.php?ID=47859

Make sure you draw your water upstream of the dead horse. Anyone know if it's still there?

I'm looking at doing a backpack that includes a night in Angel Basin and one at Reavis Ranch. Has anyone been to Angel Basin in the last couple weeks? I was wanting to know if there was water. Thanks!

Hello bknorby,

I think you'll find the best answer on site two posts above yours.

This is a popular traffic area for hiking and backpacking during the Christmas and New Year weeks. For legally hunting quail and dove with a shotgun during this period, I might suggest you consider driving FR172A past the access road for Rogers Trough TH on 4wd FR650 (to access one TH end of the Spencer Spring TR.. http://www.hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=630 and/or continue further down FR650 to access one TH end of the Rock Creek TR.. http://www.hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=535 (For less hiker traffic and maybe more quail and dove).

I'm planning on going on this upcoming 12th. I'll report back the situation on the dead horse. It's been about 8 months since I was up there last.
