Hiking solo out in the Supes today, maybe taking the family out on a morning hike tomorrow. The real fun happens New Years when my sister, her husband and I go on our annual Southern AZ camping trip. Two nights out in Southern AZ, I'm thinking somewhere near Organ Pipe this year. Past years have brought us to the Dragoons, Canelo Hills, and the San Pedro. Fortunately, I always find the locations; everyone else comes along for the ride

I'll be cooking and printing cards, but I'll probably squeeze in a short hike in the snowy local woods.

Rode my mtn. bike from the top of the Santa Margarita Mtns. to the bottom today. Very steep road, mostly paved, numerous switchbacks. Did I say very steep? The Margaritas are a small coastal range on Camp Pendleton. I could see snowy Mts. San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, and also Palomar to the east, and the ocean with the islands, Catalina and San Clemente, the other to the west. Very lucky to go to this place as it is technically a restricted area, even for military personnel.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
