Taking Rio Verde Drive to 128th St. and down to the undeveloped (?) TH to do this one. I plan to do a lasso loop on the Windgate Pass Trail combined with and out-and-back on the Lookout Trail in the center of the loop. Not sure of the mileage right now, but I think it's in the 10-12 mile range. Leaving Mesa at the usual 5:30am start time.

Man you're 5:30 AM start times sure are discouraging to me! I'm considering it, I need to do Tom's Thumb.

Actually, I've been thinking of moving the start time to 6am. It should only take about an hour to drive up there thru Rio Verde, and the last few miles seem to be on dirt roads, so its probably better to have some daylight in that situation. FYI.

I am now somewhat doubtful for this hike since I rolled an ankle today walking down the stairs. It's swollen up a bit, but I can limp around. I'll have to see how it feels by Sat. nite before i make a decision on this.

This one ain't happening, guys. Sorry. Getting out of bed for anything is a total chore now. Putting any weight on it results in 5 minutes of pain when I lay down again. Took some Vitamin I (probably followed by some vitamin "B" tonight) and it feels a little better. I can feel something inside like its loose or something when I walk on it. Doesnt seem good. The swelling has only got worse since yesterday. Looks like Romero Canyon might be in jeopardy for next week, also. Not feeling good about anything right now. I'm gonna hit the "Cancel" button, and if by some miracle I feel way better 24 hours from now, I'll repost.
