Hey I am looking for a backpacking trip in late April. I am going with some inexperienced backpackers so there needs to be ample water and accomidable weather conditions! Nothing too intensive but probably a 3 day 2 night trip. Anybody have any good suggestions for that time of year? Let me know!

Late April is tough to predict, it could be nice at lower elevations, or it could be 100 degrees already. My recommendation would be to pick out a few hikes at different elevations and wait til the week of to decide which to go on (associated with the weather you like best.)

Any specific areas of the state you're interested in?

Well I haven't been backpacking in the superstitions because I usually go in the summer and head for higher and cooler ground. Most of my backpacking experience has been in forested white mountain like areas and I would be interested to check out what AZ has to offer south of the rim! I figure most of the seasonal creeks will be running and I dont want to go too far north since it was such a bad winter and I dont want to be trudging through mud all day!
