Sycamore Fire

There is a new fire burning on the TNF and is 40+ acres.....
On State Route 87, NS-bound from mile post 199.10, at Bush Highway Saguaro Lake Rd to mile post 235.60, at SR 188
Duration June 24 from 2:28 P.M. to 9:45 P.M.
Description closed due to serious fire

Hmmm... Sierra Anche may win out over the Rim country this weekend if 87 is closed... bummer!

Just saw on the news that 87 is back open. Scorched 200 acres of desert tho...

Took us 3 hrs to get home last night via Globe we didn't want to sit and wait to Hope that they would open up the road especially since it was 113.... Sprinkled on us in Globe and was nice sunset over Roosevelt Lake.....

I could see this fire late yesterday afternoon as I flew into PHX Sky Harbor Airport from MSP via the Salt River corridor...

Does anyone know what trails are affected by those fires? Hope there's no flare ups-- I'm hittin' rim country this weekend, too.

I don't think there's any hiking trailis in that area, just AVT trails
