I'm off---to the Winds!

Pretty excited, spoke to a tribal rep for the Arapaho/Shoshone and my chosen road/TH is open ( permit to cross the res required) although washed out in spots. The trail will take me to over 11K for 6 miles in alpine tundra and views of the continental divide. Then things will get interesting as I cross two possibly snowy passes on the divide twice in a lasso loop covering about 40+ miles of territory I haven't seen. Got my cleats, bug dope, headnet, sunscreen. Not a lot of info on the area as it is not as accessible as the western side TH's. I do cross a small permanent glacial field. Waters are reportedly high with the Winds getting a lot of snow this year and snowmelt is raging. I can't wait!!!
