Hey anybody ever hiked this peak before? It is in Utah. My family and I are attempting to hike it this week. Any suggestions???

I have been to the top many times. The trail(s) are very good and the only difficulty might be if a storm front dumps snow on the area.

The locals in Southern Utah don't like hikers, tell them you are prospecting.

The locals in S. Utah don't like young families of 4 driving a Taurus either. We seemed to scare the you know what out of the folks in Panguitch (sp?) when we stopped for a soda on our way through there once. That, in turn, scared us and we got the heck outa there. :o

But hey Snow, I'm sure it'll be some beautiful scenery on your hike, ENJOY!

Well I experienced one of the most incredible hikes yet. I will share my pics as soon as I get home. What beautiful colors in Utah right now! The only disappointing part was the fact that as we neared the summit of Mt. Timp. we had to turn around because of the conditions. The snow on the top was extremely icey and we were not prepared to hike in so much snow. We were sliding all over the trail! It was disappointing because we were soooo close. I sure wouldn't have changed anything though. Anyway, be prepared for some awesome pics!! I will post them Sunday or Monday...
