Box Canyon closed?

I have heard that access to Box Canyon (Christopher Creek Gorge) is now closed due to highway construction activity. Can anyone confirm this? Any work on when this would reopen?

I was advised by the former District Ranger that it would be closed during construction and due to the highway construction there would not be a place to park. So access is going to be a problem.

Considering all the rescues that take place in the box I guess now would be a good time for the local SAR team to take a vacation.

There is all sorts of construction going on. They've fenced off the entrance area. There was a bit of parking a little ways down 260 but it's a royal mess. You might be able to do it, but could need to get creative.
