Update: Hiking to Indian Ruins

I hiked up another peak on Sunday, where there are some ruins at the top of the peak. I'd reccomend the hike even if the ruins aren't your thing, as it was quite a climb up the peak with no trails, and the view from the top was awesome.

Photos from both hikes and ruins are here:

I hiked to some Indian ruins this past weekend near Camp Verde, though they were modest ruins, it still took quite an effort to build. With all the pot shards I noted on my hikes in the southwest, the folks had to spend a lot of time fetching firewood to make the pots.

It appears as though your backyard is my backyard. In fact you can see my house in your last picture. I have made that hike a time or two. Ruins have never been my thing but those are awesome. The beauty of it is that there are many many more in that section of Tonto that no one knows of.

PS
I can email you pix of some more ruins in that area....some are 10 feet high
