Badger on my street!

I was astonished this morning to see a badger on my street! Unfortunately it is dead, having been hit by a car. I knew there were badgers in the White Mountains, but I have never seen one before.

Hey, how often can you take a photo of a badger's claws, up close and personal? I took the opportunity!

It didn't smell....yet! It had to have happened last night. The people who live by there are very fastidious, and will remove it as soon as they see it!

Well, that is a shame. Looks like it must have been struck by a car, but nor run over. I was hoping he was alive and you could have told him you, "didn't need no stinking badgers".

Too bad it wasn't a honey badger or it would have eaten that car.

I saw a badger on the Gila River Indian Reservation (desert floor) a few years ago. Surprised me. :)

Last one I saw was in the early '80s. I saw it at night, in the headlights on Olive ave near The White Tank Mountains.

Wow! I've seen a fair amount of badger sign at higher, more remote parts of the Supes, but never seen one out in the open.

But that was borrowed from Treasure of the Sierra Madre with the unmatched, inimitable Humphrey Bogart:

I got the privilege of watching two badgers fight, out by Alamo Lake, about 10 years ago...
There was a Badger that was killed just west of Goodyear last year....
